THE NEW VERSION OF TANYA HARDING

I was in competitive theatre from age 10 until 18. And let me tell you, even in high school it can be a “cut throat business". Especially on the part of teen girls. I was the lead or supporting lead in almost every production I was in during my high school years, so I know how the competition between girls can be.

It is taken so seriously in some circles (such as cheerleading and beauty pageants) that I am even guilty of acting like a total jerk for not getting a part in “Meet me in St. Louis” when I was in 10th grade. I was so offended by my "rejection" I wished ill-will to everyone in the play and I refused to see it even though friends were in it.

That’s how mean and stupid girls can get. But I can’t say I ever had the need, opportunity or motive to do something as heinous as this. Besides, NEVER compromise the integrity of a production. As they say, "THE SHOW MUST GO ON!"

Understudy in high school play gets probation for spiking drink of show's star

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — An understudy in a high school play has received two years probation for spiking the drink of a classmate who won the lead role. Hours before opening night of L.D. Bell High School's production of "Ha!" in February, Katherine Smith, 19, squirted an eyedropper of bleach into a Mountain Dew before giving it to a sophomore billed with the starring role, police said.

The sophomore didn't take a drink because she thought it smelled funny, according to an arrest affidavit. School officials later alerted police. In a plea agreement reached Thursday, Smith was sentenced on the charge of attempted assault of bodily injury. She was also fined $530, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Smith told school officials she had a lot of family visiting to see her perform. Janet Smith, her mother, told the school she already made a costume for her daughter because she thought she won the lead role. Smith first told school officials she purchased the drink as a gift for the classmate but didn't put anything in it.

She surrendered to police in June after test results confirmed the drink contained bleach. Attempts to reach Smith's attorney, Sylvia Andrews, by telephone Tuesday were not successful.

DUKE LACROSSE PLAYERS IN THE CLEAR

Yes, I will so humbly admit that I stand corrected on this Duke Rape scandal. However, in my previous post there were facts that alarmed me when I concluded that this woman was injured that evening. But by who? Another individual at the party? Someone not related to the LaCrosse team? We may never know. However, it does make me wonder why the LaCrosse coach so abruptly quit. If he believed in his players, he would have stood by them. He obviously doubted the fact that yes, they were possibly capable of such unspeakable acts.

Think back: Do you remember my broom handle theory?

“...'Nifong said the accuser "cannot at this time testify with certainty that a penis was the body part that penetrated her vagina.' Under North Carolina law, such penetration is a necessary fact that must be proven beyond a reasonable doubt for a rape conviction. Source.

According to North Carolina statute 14-27.2., "a person is guilty of rape in the first degree if the person engages in vaginal intercourse."
Source

Even though Prosecutor Nifong is requesting his resignation he stands behind some of these acts that he believes can be proven. "Nifong is still proceeding with two other charges of kidnapping and first-degree sexual offense against the three indicted men.” Source

"A
lmost the only consistent thing the accuser has said throughout the many varied statements she has made was that a penis was used in the assault she describes," defense attorney Cheshire said.

Maybe she thought a skinny flesh colored broomstick was a white male penis? You don’t know the frame of mind this woman was in. If she was being held down by other men, how could she really tell the difference?

Bottom line is if this woman is being truthful, SHE is the one on trial…all female assault victims always become the ones on trial. Questioned, asked, provoked, “Did you have anything to drink that night?” “What kind of outfit were you wearing?” “Is it true you accepted a ride home from this man that you only met hours earlier?"

If this woman is a complete liar, then I denounce everything I said in standing up for. I had her back…and if she lied then this creates a HUGE chilling effect for future rape victims that WILL NOT come forward due to inevitable court and social personal scrutiny.

To the three players that I called rapists, I apologize. However, it doesn’t mean I don’t believe that you are angels. Something happened, proven by hospital records, and conspiracy to hide a crime also hails jail time. You might want to think who you are protecting, if that is the case.

If am totally wrong, and you are true angels, then Godspeed to you.

DUKE RAPE ACCUSER--BABY ON THE WAY...HOW WILL THIS EFFECT THE CASE?

I find this story becoming more and more amazing and outrageous. Originally, I immediately sided with the accuser, because I always believe a possible rape victim before anyone else. Call me judgmental, call me unfair…I don’t care. That’s just the way I think.

But as time has gone on, I’ve been questioning myself about this woman’s validity. First and foremost I want to say that I DO believe she was assaulted. I believe she was assaulted with the broomstick that was mentioned by one of the drunk and rowdy party-goers. She DOES have DNA on her person that hasn’t matched up with any of the suspects. However, that doesn’t mean it wasn’t someone else at the party who wasn’t on the LaCrosse team.

The fact that she immediately went to the ER goes in her favor. Thousands of actual rape victims do not see immediate medical attention. This action I believe says a lot for her credibility; including the verification from the rape kit and the nurse’s findings that she had vaginal wounding and tears.

Bottom line: SOMETHING happened to this girl.

Now she’s 9 months pregnant. What a bombshell! I hear on one show she already had the child, in another article on the net, she’s about to give birth. So I don’t know if the child has been born yet. I understand her wanting to keep private about her pregnancy and her life; but I think this is major evidence that has been kept behind closed doors.

Did Prosecutor DiFong know about this? Who knew? Were all the men at the party where she danced white? Does the pregnancy timeline add up?

If the child comes out multi-racial, then we will know there is a strong possibility that the father came from that party. I do not know all the bits and details about her “n-word” accusations, and having sex with a boyfriend that day or whatever the ‘buzz’ was. And frankly, I don’t care.

I care that a woman is having a baby by herself. I care that a woman WAS violated in some way. Which way was she violated? That has yet to be determined.

I care that the alleged rape victims get all the scrutiny and are considered sluts, easy women, etc. Even the fact that this woman was a stripper does NOT excuse any sort of behavior that has been implied here. Just remember, even a prostitute can be raped. And that is NEVER a justification of such violence against a human being.

I will be interested to see what unfolds in the beginning of 2007. I’m sure those 3 male suspects are sweating it out…trying to get on with their lives, but not succeeding. That makes me happy, because the alleged victim isn’t able to get on with her life either.
