THE HAPPY FACES OF SOCIOPATHS

Drew Peterson's latest media stunt after he was arrested joking about his "spiffy jailhouse outfit" and referred his handcuffs as his "bling" reminded me of how many sociopaths laugh and take light of their serious situations and do so without regard for any remorse.

You always know what kind of person you are dealing with when you see such famous "fun court faces" during murder trials.

Normal people don't laugh or smile when they are on trial for murder.  I know a NORMAL person would be in hysterics every moment if they were "innocent", as these following psychopaths have alleged.

Some Infamous Sociopath "Happy Court" Faces:

OJ SIMPSON

A 1995 criminal trial found Simpson "Not Guilty"
in the murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman;

However, a wrongful death civil trial found
Simpson"Guilty" in the murders of Nicole and Ronald.

Simpson is currently in prison for in Nevada for a conviction
in an armed robbery case in Nevada which happened in 2007.

SCOTT PETERSON

Found guilty and sentenced to death in California
for the 2002 murders of wife Laci, and unborn son, Connor.

TED BUNDY

Found Guilty in the murders of two Chi Omega Sorority sisters at
the Florida State University in Tallahassee, and Kimberly Leach in 1978;

Bundy was also charged, but not tried in other northwestern states
such as Washington, Oregon, and Colorado for approximately 40+
(the actual number is unknown, and Bundy took that information to the grave)
murders of women from 1974 through his final capture in Florida, 1978.

Bundy was executed in Florida in 1989.

JOHN WAYNE GACY

Found guilty and sentenced to death in the murders of approximately
33 boys and young men from 1972 to 1978 where police found
over 28 bodies buried in lime in the crawl space of his his suburban Chicago home.

Gacy was executed in Illinois in 1994.

CHARLES MANSON

Found guilty in conspiracy to commit the murders of actress Sharon Tate
and three of her house guests and the following murders
of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca in August, 1969.

Manson and four of his followers were found guilty and sentenced to death.

However, in 1972, the death penalty had been repealed
by the Supreme Court in the case of
then reinstated in 1978, commuting their sentences to life in prison.

CASEY ANTHONY

Currently on trial for the murder of her daughter, Caylee Anthony in Florida.

DREW PETERSON--THE MOST HATED MAN IN AMERICA

Who doesn't know Drew Peterson?  No, he's not related to "Scott Peterson", but he might as well be.  He’s the flamboyant media hungry “sole person of interest” in the disappearance of his current wife, Stacy Peterson, who mysteriously vanished in October 2007.  Peterson contends and continues to allege that Stacy abandoned him and their children and left him for another man.

Not only is his current wife missing, but his third wife, Kathleen Savio died under suspicious circumstances in March 2004, with her cause of death listed as an “accidental drowning” with no indications of foul play according to State Police Special Agent Herbert Hardy.

However, a November 8, 2007 Chicago Tribune article reported the following in regards to Savio's death:

"...Previous descriptions of the scene have noted that while the bathtub was dry, Savio’s hair was soaking wet. But the autopsy states that her hair was “soaked with blood.” It notes a one-inch laceration on the back of her head and numerous small bruises and abrasions all over her body.

No evidence of drugs or alcohol were found in her system, according to the report. The forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy said the cause of death was drowning and wrote that the “laceration to the posterior scalp may have been related to a fall in which she struck her head.”

Kathleen Savio also wrote the following, “When I found out Mr. Peterson was having an affair with a minor (Stacy Peterson) … he began to get very violent,” she wrote. “Their [sic] has been several times throughout my marriage with this man where I ended up at the emergency room in Bolingbrook for injuries, and I have reported this only to have police leave my home without filing any reports.”

“…Bolingbrook police officials issued a statement this week in which they confirmed 18 domestic calls to the home, but said they always investigated fully."

In 2008, Dr. Michael Baden, one of the country's top forensic experts who has performed over 20,000 autopsies over the course of 45 years, had Savio's body exhumed and performed a new autopsy.  He concluded that Savio DID NOT die from a "drowning".  He reported that Savio died as a result of multiple blunt force traumas and ruled it "a homicide".

See following transcript from the Greta Van Susteren Show on November 19, 2007:

VAN SUSTEREN: One of the things that we read about in the autopsy report that was done back in 2004 is that there was a lot of blood in Kathleen Savio's hair. Was that a determination you were able to make today, whether or not that — or had she been — you know, did the funeral home clean that up or — could you make that determination?

BADEN: Any blood in the hair was already cleaned up by the funeral home. At the time of the first autopsy and when the exhumation was done, there was no more blood in the hair.

VAN SUSTEREN: What conclusion did you reach as to the manner of death after doing the autopsy today?

BADEN: That was a homicide.

VAN SUSTEREN: Any doubt in your mind whatsoever that it's a homicide?

BADEN: To a reasonable degree of medical certainty is the standard we usually use. It's my opinion to a reasonable degree of medical certainty that it's a homicide, and that's what I would have put down on the death certificate.

VAN SUSTEREN: Had you been the initial medical examiner doing the autopsy in...

BADEN: Even initially, there was enough information that it was a homicide because of the fact that she was an adult, healthy, hadn't been drinking or anything, found dead in a bathtub. It does not happen accidentally. No history of seizures or illness. And in addition, there were indications then of multiple blunt force traumas, of being beaten up. And one of the things we were able to look at today is those bruises were still there, and we could see with the naked eye that they were fresh.

Note: Savio died just before the division of the marital assets was divided, making Drew Peterson the sole beneficiary.

Second Note: Based primarily on November’s exhumation and autopsy of Drew Peterson’s third wife Kathleen Savio — which came about because of the disappearance of his fourth wife, Stacy Peterson — a judge has re-opened Savio’s estate. This means that Savio’s family can sue Peterson to recover the proceeds of her estate, which included a million-dollar insurance policy, all of which was awarded to Peterson when her May 2004 death was initially ruled an accident."

http://crimeweek.com/wordpress/?p=213

For four long years there were no additional investigations into Savio's untimely death even though she confided in her sister saying, "If something happens to me and I die, Drew did it."

After a wrongful death civil lawsuit filed against Drew Peterson in Savio’s death, and a recent ruling by a grand jury, Peterson has finally been charged with the murder of Savio.  His current mug shot shows him donning a smirk.

The civil lawsuit filed in April 2008 alleges:

(1) "Peterson carried out a plan to "stalk, attack, repeatedly beat, then drown" Savio.

(2) The suit also claims Peterson "had the means to sneak into her home, and that he did so TWICE before she was found dead."

(3) The suit also alleges that, "Peterson cut a hole in the wall of her (Savio's) house and slithered inside."

*Note: Savio lived down the street from Drew Peterson's home.

(4) The suit quotes Reverend Neil Schori telling an interviewer how Peterson's fourth wife, Stacy Peterson, claimed she woke to find Peterson "standing in front of the washing machine, dressed all in black, and holding a bag.  Peterson then removed his clothes and put them in the washer, and emptied the contents of the bag he was holding, which appeared to be women's clothing, into the washer also."

(5) "Peterson also told Stacy how he hit Kathleen on the back of the head, making her death look like an accident."

Peterson's attorney Joel Brodsky is nothing short of a Joe Peschi playing attorney in court out of “My Cousin Vinny”.

Some real boner answers to questions were, "Prosecutors can't prove their case because he didn't do it."

Good come back.  Strong argument there.

Brodsky also stated in a written statement, “There is no evidence that links Drew Peterson to the death of Kathleen Savio or anyone else for that matter…Drew did not harm Kathleen; he has said so from day one."

http://www.cnn.com/2009/CRIME/05/07/peterson.murder.arrest/index.html?eref=rss_crime

I'm having an OJ flashback.

However, in an interview last night with Anderson Cooper, Brodsky stated that Peterson always had a feeling he would be arrested with the murder of Savio.

If Peterson “had a feeling” he would be indicted, then why so adamant about his innocence?  Brodsky claims this case is based on circumstantial evidence.

First, defendants are found guilty everyday based soley on circumstantial evidence.  Second, what will the jury think once they’ve read Dr. Michael Baden’s additional autopsy report?  I say a massive blow to the head is more than circumstantial and is real evidence of more than an “accident”.

Peterson was currently engaged to be married to another young woman, Christina Raines, even though he is still legally married to missing Stacy.  According to Raines’s father, Ernie Raines, he was with his daughter and as “recently as last week they (Peterson and Christina Raines) had talked about going to Las Vegas, and getting married.”

Looks like those wedding plans will be put on hold while Peterson is awaiting his arraignment and his bond set at $20,000,000.  His minor children have been placed in the custody of the state’s children and family services department.

Here is an interesting question for the prosecution:  If the death penalty is sought, will they make a plea to spare his life in exchange for the whereabouts of Stacy? After all, he is being charged with first degree murder and finding an impartial jury of his peers will be next to impossible.

Figure the odds on that one, Drew.

Come clean, save the Illinois taxpayers money, and tell us where Stacy is.  And then face the music in regards to Kathleen.

WHERE IS INDIANA STATE UNIVERSITY'S GERALD SMITH?

22-Year Old College Senior, Gerald Smith, Missing Five Days

Authorities are focusing on the Wabash River in their search for an Indiana State University student missing since he left a bar last week near the ISU campus.

Officials are using sonar to search the Wabash River for ISU senior Gerald Smith, while a West Lafayette company plans to conduct aerial searches with heat-sensing cameras to scour the riverbanks and railroad corridors around the university for the Avon native.

Police said Smith, 22, was known to visit a CSX Railroad truss bridge.

Campus police said Wednesday they have a potential new lead in the case.  The last sighting of Smith was initially thought to have been about 12:40 a.m. Friday, when he was asked to leave a bar about a block east of the Terre Haute campus because he was intoxicated. Smith had been with friends celebrating the completion of a class project.

ISU police said a witness has come forward who saw a man fitting Smith's description between 1:30 and 1:45 a.m Friday west of the campus talking with a man and woman in a gold Toyota Camry or a similar vehicle.  That conversation lasted two to four minutes before the man and the occupants of the car parted ways. The witness said the man was wearing a red Hawaiian shirt like the one Smith was last seen wearing early Friday.

Investigators said Smith used his iPhone to access the Internet at 1:14 a.m. Friday.

State conservation officers spent most of Tuesday searching the Wabash River for Smith while ISU officials raised reward money for information about his disappearance.  Department of Natural Resources spokesman Max Winchell said officers searched the river with side-scan sonar until late Tuesday afternoon between the U.S. 40 bridge and the CSX bridge.  He said teams will be scanning the waters each day for the next several weeks, or until they find something.

ISU spokesman Dave Taylor said Wednesday that a West Lafayette company will use aerial searches with heat-detecting cameras to canvass the riverbanks and railroad corridors around the university. He said he's not sure when those searches will begin.

ISU Police Chief Bill Mercier said that while there are no indications of foul play, the case is different from others he's investigated.

"We get a fair number of missing person reports that end quickly and are easily explained. But I've been in campus law enforcement for 25 years and never had an incident like this," he said.

Smith, an Avon High School graduate, is 5-foot-7, weighs 160 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. He wears glasses and has a light beard.

Indiana State University Shocked Over Missing Student Gerald Smith

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) - Much of the Indiana State University campus is shocked over Gerald Smith's disappearance.

Dean Nancy Merritt said the campus, as well as the business department, is deeply saddened by Smith's disappearance."Students are not sleeping well and are very worried about Gerald and are just trying to provide or seek information as they can," Merritt said.

ELIZABETH EDWARDS--DID SHE KNOW WHAT JOHN WAS UP TO? WHO CARES? MIND YOUR BUSINESS!

Lisa Bloom reported today on her Facebook page that tonight's discussion on "No Bias No Bull" on CNN will be on the John Edwards Infidelity scandal.

"Elizabeth Edwards knew of John's affair but said nothing during the campaign as the time bomb tick tick ticked away right next to her. Was she complicit in the deception, or an innocent victim of John's betrayal? (We're discussing on No Bias No Bull tonight, CNN 8 pm EST.)"

Therefore, I am reposting this previous article to reiterate my point.  Why not?  If the media is deciding to "spin" it around the table again, then so shall I.

Previously posted August 11, 2008

I hate to sound like the cynical wet blanket, but let's face it: Over 50% of marriages in the United States today end in divorce. I don't know what the percentage of that comes from extra marital affairs, but let's be honest...how many people do you know that are divorced that weren't a victim of an affair?

I'll use myself as an example: I have friends, certain relatives, even close business mentors.

So my question is: Is marriage obsolete?

When we say the big words, "I DO", do we really mean:

"For better or for worse?"

"For richer or for poorer?"

"In sickness and in health?"; and most importantly:

"Till DEATH DO WE PART"?

Three years ago I wrote an opinion article on this blog about how I believe marriage is obsolete. No one is bound to stay in an unhealthy or unhappy marriage. In regards to women, today we have greater resources, the availability for higher education and to make our own money, and the know-how to leave a marriage if we are unhappy.

For example, many questioned and still question why Hillary Clinton stayed with Bill after his openly public affairs. Did she stay due to her own political ambitions? Did she stay because she believes in the marital vow of "for better or for worse"? Did she stay for the sake of their child? Did she stay because she genuinely LOVES her husband and believed they could work through the turmoil? Who are we to judge and make those assumptions? Those were her PERSONAL decisions to make.

Let's look at JFK. At the time, the media, political advisers, and even the women he slept with kept his 'penis in closet'. When it came out that he was an avid womanizer, how many people changed their opinion of him? He is still considered one of the most influential and popular presidents of our time, all the while his "secret service" kept his secrets. Did anyone blast Jackie for staying with him when it was learned she knew of his infidelities? Did the public question her motives for staying in the marriage? Why was she treated with kid gloves? Was it because the day and time of our society that a woman should accept their husband's affairs and "deal with it"? Or was it because she was used to the power, the fame and the money? As we later learned, her marriage to Onassis was merely a marriage of financial convenience, and not of pure love.

Bottom line...what John Edwards did to his wife, children, family and friends is not our business. Do you have a neighbor, a friend, or even a family member going through something like this? What if this personal business was on the news 24/7? How humiliating would that be for the forsaken marital party, for their family, and for the children?

People will disagree with me that a politician who cheats cannot be trusted and is not worthy to lead our country, state, county, what-have-you. But tomorrow when you are at work, take a look at your CEO, your boss, your co-workers. Could it be they have done or are doing the same thing? Are they functioning properly and making money for their company, employees and/or shareholders? Are they actually bringing their marital dishonesty into their jobs?

It happens every day.

When I was 23 and getting married to my college sweetheart of 5 years, I assumed that was what I was supposed to do. I graduated college, had a great job and was in a committed relationship. I started to question my actions before I walked down the isle. When my dad gave me away I thought to myself, “If this doesn’t work out, I can always get divorced.”

I am ashamed to admit my thinking at the time. However, I now believe that it takes a very special person to commit themselves 100% to another person for life. Those very special people are far and few between anymore.

Please do not construe this as an "anti-marriage" or justification for infidelity rant. I believe in the sanctity of marriage. However, I believe that when one gets married, a majority of those do not see the LONG TERM. They do not see beyond the primrose path.

Marriage is work. It is a commitment that goes beyond any job or any other commitment that we agree with God and our partner to in live with.

I hate cliché "old sayings"...but I'm going to throw this one out there. One who lives in a glass house should not throw stones.

Life is a bitch. It’s not supposed to be perfect. It’s not supposed to be some fairy tale or the dream you’ve always had of living in the cul-de-sac neighborhood with the white picket fence, having ‘block parties’ and barbecues with the neighbors, who all happen to be your ‘best friends’. That is what the media and other propaganda mongers want us to believe.

This is just something to think about to those who are blasting John Edwards. I'm not condoning Edwards for what he did, but for the sake of his wife, his children and family, let them deal with this in their own way.

IN PRIVATE.
