If Bush had a Personal Blog
I am having a really relaxing 5 week vacation right now at my wonderful ranch in Texas. I've been sleeping in everyday, playing around with the dog. The best part of my day is sitting on the porch with Laura and sipping iced tea while watching the sunset.
Uh! What's going on? Why are all those protesters and low-life civilians doing on my property?
What did you say lady? I can't hear...
What do you mean you think it's disgusting
that your child was killed in Iraq and I'm taking a vacation?
Uhh... Duhhh...
Sorry, my bad...

Michelle, you're smart enough to know that the President doesn't take a real vacation...he's always at work. Thinking otherwise is ignorant.
#2, those people camped outside his ranch are people whose main purpose is to embarrass the President. By meeting them, something he already has done with Mrs. Sheehan, he would neither appease them nor change his policies...nor should he.
Note that Mrs. Sheehan's family doesn't really support her actions anymore... "The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins."
I heard today on the Neil Bortz AM Talk Show that Mrs. Sheehan's family is not supportive of her actions. I cannot understand the anguish she must be going through by losing a child. But that is neither here, nor there...
The fact of the matter is Bush is relaxing (and working). Of course he's working, but he has the luxury of being with his family and sleeping on a comfortable bed every night.
He is not getting ambushed by suicide bombers. He is not going to suffer from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is not going to lose his daughters to this war.
I'm just sayin, Aaron... I know you are a republican. And I am more conservative than you think. I'm just thinking like a human being.
Considering the weighty/pro-freedom/pro-democracy decisions President Bush (the "dumb" little guy) makes daily, I believe he's entitled to a quasi "break"...and let's not perpetuate the false notion that he doesn't care about those he's put in harms way in the process.
P.S. I am a conservative first and foremost... but not necessarily always Republican.
Yes, I agree that Bush has very weighty decisions to make.
However, when you become the President of the United States, you are assuming the highest position in the Country and have the key to all the power in the world. Bush accepted his role as the President, put his hand on the bible and took his vow to serve the American people and to do what is best for America--not what the best is for other countries.
I agree he's entitled to a break here and there, but 5 weeks is a long time considering we are at a point in time of serious crisis. We need him more than ever.
I am neither democrat or conservative. I feel very deeply regarding issues on both sides of the fence. My liberal views are not "hippy" views, as some people would like to think. I was behind Bush 100% on March 19, 2003. However, propaganda revealed it's ugly head. I have now re-thought my original opinions after doing my own research and reading.
It is obvious that we are dealing with a different kind of enemy. The enemy is widespread and they can easily camouflage themselves. Their views are religious in nature and they are fundamental extremists.
We are not here to change their ways or political views and choices. In theory it sounds wonderful to want to 'save the world', but in reality, it is obviously not working...and something needs to be done about it.
I'm sick of my hard earned tax dollars going towards this war that is not successful...and I do not see an ending anytime soon.
Pull the Americans out now. We have given the new Iraq police the skills and resources to defend their own country. Let's concentrate on the hundreds of fundamental extremist terrorist cells around the world and destroy them.
Leave Iraq and focus on the real problem. Every single hijacker on the planes on 9/11 were connected to Bin Laden and were Saudis. Why aren't we putting more pressure on the Saudi government?
Because Bush has a vested interest with the Saudis. They are friends. It's all out in the open, and if you can't see past the greed and evil then I suggest you look at both sides of the coin before you defend anyone.
That is what I have done and I'm sticking with it until it is proven to me otherwise.
Leave Iraq? Are you kidding? Who do you think is going to take over? I'm sorry to say that's not good logic or a good plan Michelle.
You're obvioulsy privy to better info than the Pentagon because, according to them, the Iraqi's aren't yet capable of defending themselves. So leaving them now would be a TERRIBLE mistake.
Michelle, don't throw the towel in so easily...all good things take time and effort. We can both fight for Iraq's freedom AND focus on who you claim are the "real problem".
I pity the lives lost, but relatively speaking with regards to war, they are few...and leaving before finishing the job makes them in vain.
You care about the troops...yet the troops disagree with your opinions and a vast majority of them agree with President Bush. Don't you find this a bit odd?
If this war is about oil and money, then explain why we haven't taken any Iraqi oil, and oil prices are through the roof?
P.S. Yes, the Saudi's suck. I agree...but claiming that Bush is in bed with them is straight from the Michael Moore conspiracy file.
