MY REBUTTAL TO JANE FONDA COMMENT

I received a comment from Ms. Julie Knutson of Charlotte, North Carolina regarding my views on Ms. Fonda's right to freedom of speech, and here is my rebuttal comment.

I must admit that a lot of my feelings towards this subject has to do with my Dad. He is a Vietnam vet and told me stories when I was young about when he got back from the war the protestors would spit at the soldiers and scream obscene profanities. Those 'boys' (the average age of the Vietnam soldier was only 19) went over there and most of them had no choice, it was called A DRAFT. They were either killed, maimed, or psychologically marred in one way or another. And for these people to disrespect these brave young men the way they did makes me sick. Save your evil energy towards the politicans, Washington decision-makers and make wise choices when VOTING.

I believe in the freedom of speech, Julie, but when "influential" people start discussing things they are not experts on they do a disservice to all Americans and they put us in more danger.

I just hope Ms. Fonda chooses a different approach this time to voice her opinion. Not by denouncing the men and women who are risking their lives not only for America, but for Iraqis as well.

I will always be proud of all my male relatives that have served during wartime. My great-grandfather served in WWI, my grandfather received a Purple Heart in WWII, my great-uncle served in Korea, my Dad in VietNam, and my Brother is currently in the Navy. I didn't vote for Bush, and neither did millions of other Americans, but can't you agree that the uneducated, ill-informed and easily manipulated 'folks' of the red states gave Bush his second pass to destroy the world?

Just something to think about...
