INDIANAPOLIS POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED FOR DUI
Indianapolis, Indiana
September 23, 2005
An Indianapolis police officer has been arrested for driving while intoxicated. Michael Hill, a 7-year veteran of the Indianapolis Police Department, was stopped by police after an IPD detective saw him driving at a high speed on Interstate 70 early Friday morning, police said.
Police said Hill was off-duty and was driving his own vehicle. Police estimated Hill's speed at between 100 mph to 120 mph. He was "all over the road", according to the officer who stopped him.
Police performed a portable Breathalyzer test on Hill and it revealed a 0.25 blood-alcohol level, more three times the legal limit.
IPD officials said an internal investigation was under way. Hill could be suspended or dismissed from the police force.
I say he should be FIRED. He could have killed someone at the speeds he was traveling at including his erratic driving.
If you are going to be a police officer, then don't be a hypocrite by doing illegal things--then turn around and arrest other people for the same thing...or some crime that is completely petty.
