ENROLLMENT HITS 50,000 AT WEBSITE CATERING TO CHEATING SPOUSES

TORONTO, CANADA

In just 18 months, The Ashley Madison Agency has surpassed 50,000 member sign-ups at its website www.ashleymadison.com. What's the big deal?

Here's what has people's attention: The Ashley Madison Agency operates an online dating service that caters to attached adults seeking love & romance from other like-minded romance-seekers outside their primary relationship.

This rapid, upward spiral may be a telling commentary on how society is evolving and how couples are expressing themselves more as individuals. People in relationships are no longer blindly following traditional behavior. Those that are not enjoying a healthy, long-lasting relationship seem to be seeking certain answers outside their principal union now more than ever before and the anonymity of the Internet certainly makes it easier.

Many involved in a relationship are feeling unfulfilled sexually and emotionally; some even say that they are 'lonely'. Even more compelling is the startling number of women joining the swelled ranks of men seeking love and romance from people other than their spouses. This development may be especially true from women that have never been treated as equals so they find themselves looking elsewhere for that respect.

As social behavior evolves, a percentage of the population is even questioning whether we were even meant to be monogamous. Maybe it is no longer a case of whether monogamy is right but if it is right for each individual.

For its part, the Ashley Madison Agency neither condones nor condemns the act. "Our service is not meant to glorify or promote infidelity" say's Darren Morgenstern, Operations Director at the Agency's mid-town Toronto location. "We're simply offering a safe and anonymous way for people to communicate with each other once they've made up their mind to explore options outside their relationship". "Nobody can 'create' this kind of market and people can't be convinced to stray. This type of societal truism (infidelity) is already out there and always will be".
