ARUBA--THERE'S A NEW SHERIFF IN TOWN

It would appear that the overconfidence of some that they may or may not have gotten away with certain things due to past Judges decisions in the Natalee Holloway investigation may come back to haunt some. There is a saying, be careful what you say as it may come back to haunt you.

It would appear to be the cause with many involved in the Natalee Holloway investigation who have made public statements on TV.

Tito: Basically, people that have said things either publicly or on TV, or during a previous interrogation. This information is crucial apparently and the authorities want to have these people back. From my sources, this should happen tomorrow. A couple of people have been asked to show up tomorrow and give statements to clarify basically what they said on previous TV interviews. Or other information that came out publicly that made them want to know more.

According to sources in Aruba, suspects who have made public comments to the media will be picked up and questioned in the Natalee Holloway disappearance. The ALE has plans to pick up Deepak Kalpoe and one would presume his mother for comments they made on tape during an interview with Jaime Skeeters for the Dr. Phil Show.

It would appear that these individuals have put themselves in a box. They will have to make statements to ALE not knowing whether the tapes are authentic or not. However, all parties concerned who participated in the tape know what they said is the truth or not. According to Aruban authorities, the Skeeter’s originals were to arrive Fedex. One wonders whether such statements may incriminate themselves that they may be held again on charges.

This appears to be a rather interesting crossroads in the Natalee Holloway investigation as Dompig has stepped up to the plate and drawn a line in the Aruban sand. He was not part of the original investigation and appears that he wants to be able to question those involved himself to put an end to the nonsense that has been going on. First Dompig made the comment over the weekend that the Van der Sloot primary residence had never been searched clearing up that controversy. Now he is taking action as to the public comments said that differ from previous statements made.

For all involved it looks like there is a new Sheriff in town and he means business. For everyone’s sake let’s hope so that this mystery can be solved and proper measures be taken for all involved. I hope that Joran Van der Sloot’s comments are also looked upon in the same manner that he made to the National Enquirer by the ALE and Dompig. I think it would be rather appropriate if he be asked to return to Aruba to discuss his interview comments as well. They seem to be in direct conflict with those that Deepak Kalpoe made regarding having sex with Natalee. Ones that appear are getting Deepak asked back in for questioning.

The rest of the Greta Van Susteren interview: On The Record, Oct. 11, 2005

Greta: It has been more than a month since the suspects release. Has the prosecution given up on the case? Tito, what is the prosecution team saying today?

Tito: Greta, basically that they are researching whatever information they have. When they get stuck, not saying they are stuck…they go back to the beginning to see what they might have missed. They are accessing every angle, every possibility to decide their next move. While they are doing it I must say they are still interrogating people. In fact I am getting the late word that tomorrow they are getting a couple of people in. Very important people that I can’t mention right now, probably tomorrow. They are very close to the case, there may be more developments tomorrow depending on this situation.

Greta: When you say very important people do you mean people who may have seen something or heard somethings? Can you give us a few more identifying characteristics?

Tito: Basically, people that have said things either publicly or on TV, or during a previous interrogation. This information is crucial apparently and the authorities want to have these people back. From my sources, this should happen tomorrow. A couple of people have been asked to show up tomorrow and give statements to clarify basically what they said on previous TV interviews. Or other information that came out publicly that made them want to know more.

Greta: Do they sort of pull you aside and say don’t worry we are going to solve this? What are the odds that they will solve this case?

Tito: They definitely did not say they will not solve this case. They are going to solve this, it is just taking longer. They are taking their time, doing everything possible. They will solve this at one point on another. It is far from over, regardless of the information that we are stopping the investigation. Not a lot of media attention had been given either local or international but they are looking forward to a resolution even before the end of the year.

Greta: Do you think the prosecutor Karen Janssen pays any attention whatsoever to the criticism that Beth has?

Tito: It is worrisome at one point, but I understand that more than her. It is more a committee that they have installed since the beginning that contradicts everything that has been said incorrectly to make sure that Aruba’s name is not being looked at in a ? way. They are basically observing everything and making sure that it is getting all the attention of everything being said about this case. Not as much as the prosecutor, this is a committee.

Greta: That has to do with how it effects Aruba itself. What about the prosecutor? Does she have a thick skin or be moved by it?

Tito: She definitely knows about it. She is not deaf, she is not blind, she is paying attention. She says she has a very thick skin, they all either have one or have gotten one. Don’t pay attention to what is being said.

Greta: What about sexual assault charges, if they cannot make it murder. Is there any chance a sexual assault charge would be brought against anyone?

Tito: The only thing that is different now is they didn’t have enough information to justify them detained. But, rest assured that any charges like you mentioned will be brought forward when the case comes forward. They are charged with sexual assault.
Although there is not enough to keep them in jail right now, but enough to make it stand apparently in court.

Greta: Joran is in school in the Netherlands, do you run into Deepak and Satish?

Tito: I do run into Deepak quite often, he is back at work. I bumped into him a couple days ago. He goes about his job. He is a little nervous, people know who he is and come in and want to talk to him about the case. Americans or locals. Satish is more away, meaning in school we are not paying much attention to him. Joran is in Holland, doing OK with his family to support him. Deepak is the one out in the community, most visible.

Greta: Any search going on Tito?

Tito: There was a search late last week, I did not get the details. All of the searches have to do with tips. Weather has not been clear, they are waiting on the tides, the water and the weather. So they can resume searches again.

Dompig On The Abrams Report; “They always denied having sex with this young girl. ”

Gerald Dompig, the deputy chief of police in Aruba, joined MSNBC’s Dan Abrams on Wednesday, October 12, 2005 to discuss the status of the case.

Aruban police say new tapes could spur arrests. Appears that Deepak Kalpoe has certainly opened the door for further questioning in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway and a possible rearrest.

DOMPIG: He is working on it … you could say that the glitch was that — I understood that the producer of the company of the “Dr. Phil Show” wasn’t pleased because they said that they didn’t — they never put any conditions on it. But we were informed differently.

But that’s not the issue right now. More important is to me that we do get the tapes as soon as possible. … Because I assure you that, if these tapes are legitimate, it could turn around the case.

ABRAMS: Why is that? Is what he says on that tape inconsistent with what he said in interviews with the police?

DOMPIG: Absolutely. Absolutely. They always denied having sex with this young girl. And so, in looking at the tapes, to watch if this is really what this gentleman has said, then it is totally contrary to what he has declared at our police station.

ABRAMS: So, if those tapes are verified by you, are you going to re-arrest Deepak Kalpoe?

DOMPIG: Of course, that’s one of the strong possibilities. Don’t forget that we do have to follow tactical issues and strategies. The issue, also, is that, in Aruba, we don’t know the plea bargains. It’s not allowed within our system. So we do have to follow different rules and regulations.

But I assure you that, once this is verified, and if it’s legitimate, the case will turn around fully. And it will be for us absolutely enough new information to talk once more to this young man, or, as a matter of fact, with maybe to all three.

From what would appear the truth is stranger from fiction category in Aruba, former suspect Steve Croes, ex-Tattoo NJ, is rumored to have plans to sue Beth Twitty. Steven Croes apparently says that “Beth Holloway Twitty has damaged his reputation and he might be taking her to court”.

According to Jossy Mansur in an interview on Rita Cosby Live & Direct, Jossy Mansur stated the following:

We heard it and it has been confirmed by people very close to him. He feels that his reputation has been damaged in this case by Natalee’s mother. He has consulted with some legal advisors as to how to proceed with a case against her.

As Jossy further went on to say,I don’t know, that is very hard to say from a man who just voluntarily went to the police to offer an alibi to save his friends. You can expect anything, whether he goes through with it or not.

Steve Croes goes into police to present an alibi to protect his friends and lies to authorities in the process. Because of this lie he is arrested as authorities knew at that time that Joran admitted to never leaving Natalee off at the Holiday Inn. Now Steve Croes wants to sue Beth Twitty because “his reputation has been damaged in this case”? Steve Croes lies and brings all this upon himself and now wants to sue because his reputation has somehow been damaged? I guess lying to the police does not qualify as damaging one’s reputation.

Now to Aruba, a former suspect in the NH disappearance is reportedly thinking about suing the teenagers mom. Steve Croes was arrested early in the investigation. The party boat DJ was released just days after his arrest. But now, he apparently says that Beth Holloway Twitty has damaged his reputation and he might be taking her to court.

Rita: Jossy, what do you know about Steve Croes going after Beth Twitty?

Steve Croes; “He feels that his reputation has been damaged in this case by Natalee’s mother”, Beth Twitty.

Rita: Jossy, you hit it on the head because that is the reason this guy came in. He made it up this story to begin with. When I was down there a few weeks ago they were strongly suggesting to me some people on the island that maybe he knows Joran, maybe Deepak better that he has alleged. Maybe he knows more about the case than he has alleged.

Jossy: I am convinced he does know the three suspects very well. Much better than he has admitted so far or anyone has inquired into. Whether he knows more about the case, whether he is more involved in the case or not, I don’t know. You would have to consult with the prosecution or the police to find the real facts about that.

Rita: You have some new details on the status of Jorans family and what is father can and can’t do in court.

Jossy: Yes mam, I understand from talking to Diario today that the family of Joran came back from Holland. They are all in Aruba now. I understand that the father cannot enter or set foot in the building where the court functions while his son is a suspect. He will be a suspect for the next two years.

Rita: Do you get a sense that there is a stepped up effort because there has been so much talk of a potential boycott?

Jossy: Perhaps there is and perhaps there isn’t because it is hard to really correlate the possible boycott and the things happening now in the case. The case is going forward, the police are investigating, the prosecution is preparing its case. It is going forward regardless of what anyone else thinks. It is going forward.
