Figuring out the future of The Simple Life is proving a bit more complex than anticipated. Last Wednesday, Fox announced it had no room for Paris Hilton's reality series on its network and canceled The Simple Life.
But on Monday, everyone's favorite heiress said the show is still set to start filming its fourth season next month. "We're shooting Nov. 1," the 24-year-old told an Associated Press reporter at a fashion show in Los Angeles. "All the networks are fighting over it," Hilton added.
Twentieth Century Fox Television and Bunim-Murray Productions, have both released statements expressing optimism The Simple Life would survive. "We believe this series starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie is still a dynamic and valuable franchise," said Twentieth Television.
People reported that Fox had wanted to build the show around Hilton and Richie reconciling, but that seems remote at this point. The two have been battling for months, with Hilton releasing a statement in April cryptically claiming, "Nicole knows what she did."
