HOW IS A 7-YEAR OLD ABLE TO DRIVE A PICK-UP?

7-year-old Wanted Driver's License,
Leads Police On Chase In Pickup

I bet this kid was taught how to drive by someone or sat on someone's lap and steered. I know this because I did something similar when I was 12. One night I was babysitting my brother and sister I decided to go in the garage and mess around with my mom's car. Needless to say, I put my mom's car through part of the family room, destroyed 2 bikes and a lawnmower. And why did this happen? Because I was inspired by a babysitter who tried to teach me how to drive stick shift.

And yes, I was grounded for the ENTIRE summer.

Shelbyville, Tenn. — Eager to get his driver's license, a 7-year-old boy put on his seat belt and remembered to use his turn signal as he took his parents' pickup truck out for a spin, leading police on a slow pursuit around town.

Officers initially thought they were chasing a drunken driver Monday night. “He was weaving and all over the road. He couldn't stay in his lane,” Officer Josh Laverette said. Instead, when the truck finally stopped in front of a home after the seven-mile escapade, they found a second-grader, barely 4 feet tall, behind the wheel. The house belonged to his parents. “He was so short he had to sit up close to the steering wheel,” Laverette said. “Whenever he would brake, he would pick himself up with his left foot and stomp on the brake with his right.”
