Some of the eight men of interest in the death of Dianne Brimble aboard a P&O cruise ship were secretly recorded discussing how to give their evidence at the inquest.
Ron Hoenig, the counsel assisting the inquest into Mrs Brimble's 2002 death, stated conversations were intercepted by police over a "considerable period of time...They relate specifically to this inquest, to what occurred on board."
"A number of persons discussed their evidence, how they are to give evidence, how to describe Mrs. Brimble and their view of her conduct on board."
Passenger Joanne Turner told the inquest that on the first night of the cruise she was at the ship's nightclub and saw three of the persons of interest mingling in a group. This group were making lewd comments about women, and another was made about a passenger's weight.
"There was an air of huge arrogance on their part," Ms. Turner said. "I remember thinking clearly, 'These people are guys you don't want to be near'."
Her husband, Nathan Turner, said the next morning he saw one of the members of the group with scratches and a black eye. "I just figured he crossed the line sometime during the night and someone had a go at him," he said.
In late evidence to the inquest tonight, one of two doctors called to resuscitate Ms. Brimble told the inquest he considered her death suspicious and suspected drugs and alcohol were involved. Junior ship's doctor Niels Willensiek said medical staff had tried for 20 minutes to revive the mother of three.
He said there was a significant amount of blood in her oral cavity and pharynx, adding he and senior doctor Damien McAliskey immediately thought the death was suspect.
"We regarded it as suspicious because it was a relatively young lady and there was no medical explanation (as to) why she would die...obviously we were suspicious about the cause of death, what might have happened."
Mr. Hoenig said one of the medical team recalled an occupant of the cabin attempting to come in during resuscitation, yelling: "Get the bitch out of my room, that's my room."
"You don't recall hearing that?" Mr Hoenig asked.
"No I don't," Dr. Willensiek replied.

Well this is something new to the case that I didn't see before, blood in Brimble's throat, one of the men had a black eye and scratches and a passenger heard a woman in there cabin saying NO and afterwards a man saying shut up.I always thought that she was murdered, she was drugged with out knowing it(spiked drink)then raped. These loser's knew she could get them in trouble so they let her die calling her a fat bi*ch and taking her picture. Please put the trash where it belongs, put these men in prison where they belong never to walk the streets again. If what they did wasn't bad enough Pantic wanted to make money off her death and wanted to be paid a million dollard to tell the truth.Wilhelm saying Brimble ruined his vacation, the thing that get's me is they believe there lies.No woman will ever feel safe again around these small minded little boys, none of them worked they all took and sold drugs and most of them had a record for crime.Hopefully at least one of them has a soul left and will tell the truth of what really happened to Brimble, although I doubt it.They are an embaressment to all of there familys and children and have left 3 children with out a mother. They drugged her drink and then led her to there room, this poor woman didn't know what was happening to herself, then they left her on the floor to die like a dog. These men should be put in prison so they can never ever be able to do this to any woman out there again. How would you feel if this was your daughter, mother, neice, aunt, friend? These pigs are very dangerous and anything that comes out of there mouth should not be believed. They killed her,all of them, they were all in on it,they all covered it up and they all lied-there still lieing.Put these men where they belong,in prison-forever.
