Is it just me, or does it seem that there is an epidemic regarding missing women who are eventually found...murdered by boyfriends, ex-boyfriends, husbands and ex-husbands? It doesn't seem that any woman is safe anymore. It could happen to ANYONE. No one is immune to this escalation of violence towards women.
Where is the public outrage? Why aren't the police taking these women seriously when they try to get protective orders against these men who have made viable threats? There have been so many cases where missing women (most of which have been found dead with the perpetrators as someone they know. Either they are still involved with these men, or are trying to get away from them.) The minute they try to break things off, this is when these sociopathic monsters come into play and ruin hundreds of peoples lives.
The people affected? Obviously the victim, the victim's family and friends, the community, and even the perpetrator's family.
A crime such as this does not just affect the two individuals involved. It affects the entire community. It creates a scare. Who can women trust? Why aren't their pleas taken seriously? There must be something done to stop this horrible trend. Every night I see another story of a missing woman...and 9 times out of 10, their significant other is the cause of their demise.
I am just glad that this sick and demented man has been caught and will hopefully be found guilty. I can only hope that this sorry excuse for a man will spend the rest of his life in prison. The death penalty seems to be the best answer for punishment to these predatory men.
I'm not saying that the death penalty is a deterrent...but what is? Better parenting? Better social and moral values? Schools and/or government control? Is it the lack of education regarding mental health counseling?

(Source)--A former boyfriend of a woman whose badly decomposed body was found in a Chicago suburb has been charged in her death. Reginald Potts, 30, was being held on first-degree murder charges in the death of 28-year-old Nailah Franklin. Police confirmed the charges late Friday.
Police have said that at one time Potts had dated Franklin, 28, a representative for Indianapolis-based Eli Lilly. She was reported missing Sept. 19 after she didn't show up for a work meeting. Franklin's body was found behind several vacant businesses in south suburban Calumet City eight days later. She was identified using dental records. Franklin had filed a police report about threatening phone calls she received from a man she dated briefly. Potts' initial court appearance is set for noon on Monday at the Cook County Criminal Courthouse, Gorman said. It was not immediately clear whether he had an attorney.

Do you know if the perps have Narcissistic Personality Disorder? Or if they attended AA meetings? Were the victims codependent? There is an epidemic of Narcissism in this country that equals that of obesity and 75% of them are men. I don't know the % of the men in that category that are alcoholic/substance abusers/sociopsycho but I think it must be extremely high. Google 'AA cultism' and find the www.mentalhelp.net and read the comments of hundreds of former members and how they feel victimized. Also see www.orange-papers.net for an expose of the AA organization and how the founder, Bill Wilson, who was a narcissist, lied, stole and cheated all through his so called sobriety and many more schocking revelations about this evil and malignant organization. On the home page of the orange papers under the contents there is a link named 'Bill and The Other Women' and you may be able to connect the dots and see just how this all can stay 'in house' and be passed down through the generations and to keep getting bigger and bigger through their 12th step which is to bring in more recruits. The families are then pulled into picture through their tailor made 12 step programs called Alanon and Alateen. The unprincipled and unregulated program that was masterminded by a lunatic with it's 12 steps is actually a front for their leaders to feed on unsuspecting and vulnerable victims who unwittingly go there 'for help.' To be a leader there you must accumulate continuous time without drinking alcohol. Period. They don't have to have princles, they don't have to 'work the steps' and they don't have to take any personal responsibility for anything they say or do because they are protected by the 'anonymity.'
Their 5% success rate alone should make people take notice and suspect that there just might be something 'fishy' here. Who do you think makes it into that 5%? I would have to say it must be the 'big fish' who have been feeding on all those 'little fish' who thought they were trying to get help in a 'safe' place.
Our most violent offenders are being indoctinated into this program of 'anonymity' every single day. This program that is supposed to help people stop drinking, but instead it breeds more contempt against women, reinforces and protects the evils done (past, present and future) by the 'leaders' who are in a position of authority over the newcomers. They don't have to give up their 'defects of character'. They revel in them. For them (people with NPD) it is a match made in heaven. For the victims who are often codependent and so vulnerable it can be and often is deadly for them and their children. For the N, image is All important and that is how they are able to deceive so many people. They often hide in places that are thought to be safe as in AA and in churches doing love and service work for their fellow man. This way they can pull off their perfect crimes because they are so clever and so deceitful and just like Hamas they hide behind the women and children they are victimizing, not only that their victims themselves are their most effective defenders.
I sobered up in AA but it became toxic for me soon after and I am still trying to heal and recover from abuses suffered then and even more recently as my husband who is an 'N' and still in AA has 24 years of senority and sobriety now, but believe me he is still very ill and still very much an abuser. I think Bill Wilson was a demon from hell because it was he who made all these insidious abuses and crimes possible.
