75% OF ALABAMA RESIDENTS SUPPORT ARUBA BOYCOTT

The boycott will continue until the Holloway family gets answers

I'm Still Boycotting Aruba...and each State will be contacted for support.

Hey Arubans who are reading my blog...you better think of somewhere else to live because if your country loses any more tourism from the U.S., your country will lose everything...except it's drug money, of course.

Three-quarters of Alabama residents back the governor's call for a travel boycott of Aruba to protest the island's handling of the disappearance of teenager Natalee Holloway.

The poll, conducted by the Mobile Register and University of South Alabama found that seven out of 10 respondents would not travel to the Aubua even if they won a free trip. Authorities in Aruba have reacted angrily to the call for a boycott.

The State Department has refused to support a boycott, as have many travel groups. "The governor certainly understands there is nothing he can legally do to stop Americans from traveling to Aruba," said Riley spokesman Jeff Emerson. "This is just using the bully pulpit to urge them to consider other travel options."

Will you still boycott Aruba when you find out some foreiner dragged her passed out ass off the beach and she's a sex slave in some brothel in Turkey?

YES I WOULD. I would never want to spend my hard earned dollars to go to a place like that. Their government is corrupt and they purposely did a shoddy investigation from day one. Sounds like a conspiracy between Aruba and other South American drug-thugs.

I don't agree with their way of life, their pathetic laws, and corruption. I would NEVER chose to go there just because of that reason. Just as I chose to boycott other things such as companies like Walmart, Ambercrombie & Fitch and other major corporations...I do it out of PRINCIPLE. Do you know what that is, or ever experiened it? Besides there are way more beautiful parts of this country that don't even COMPARE to Aruba.

Remember...it all comes down to MONEY. If we take that away from them, their government and the Netherlands will have to fess up or Aruba may end up being this deserted third world island that people would say "this used to be such a great place".

It's sad it has to be this way, but that's the path their goverment and police officals have chosen. And ther Netherland's lackadaisical attitude doesn't score them any points, either.

I would think the citizens of Aruba would be more angry at their government officials for gambling away their lives and livelihood just because they refuse to back down. Aruba, don't cut your nose off to spite your face. Here's some advice: it never works in your favor.

I'm a proud American...I don't doubt our people's determination, will and power. Justice will occur. Maybe not tomorrow, but at some point it will happen in ways unimangeable. I'm not a religious person, but I know God will have his/her last say to those involved.

I agree with the old saying, what goes around comes around. Do good in this life and you are guaranteed a better life in the next.

Does that answer your question?

This is just so unfair and ridiculous...why should the average people in aruba be made to suffer?

Could YOU oust your local mayor, police chief, prosecutor etc overnight? Do it in a week or so?? Get reall....this is ridiculous

Tell me...will you boycott Colorado for Jon Benet, Florida for the failures in the Jessica Lundsford Case, Virginia cause they probably botched Taylor's case so that Frawley wont get death penalty....

how about California for OJ, Blake, Michael Jackson?? Boycott Jamaica for Claudia too...or get real

Alabama has 186 or so missing people....find them
What about Nancy who went missing a week before Natalee...in Birmingham?? Oh yeah, she is 47, Black and chubby....so no press...her relatives are asking why the Birmingham police have not arrested the guy found driving Nancy's truck

Go find the missing in Alabama, the missing in your own town

I don't know Natalee. I don't know Beth. I've followed the story as much as I can stomach because it tends to piss me off a little too much to hear how things have gone for the family and how much hate their actually is in the world - even here before I got ready to post the first comment is this...

WTF? Why even post that?

Somewhere there is a girl either dead or alive. Nobody knows. Nobody can even guess anymore what the actual truth is or if the case will ever be solved.

The boycott is a demonstration. It really doesn't have to work to prove a point. Its a means to an end. Eventually pressure will come from the top. And by the time Aruba gets out from under it you will start seeing pretty banner ads for Sandals again. Be sure you take a trip down the road and see all the shacks and people starving. That way maybe you feel better about yourself. The real people of Aruba don't see a dime now. Don't fall for this crap that all the pepole of Aruba will suffer under a Boycott. They are suffering now. The only people that will take a hit from this will be the people who have been taking advantage of others and hiding behind the mask that they actually give damn for the little girl running around with little to wear and very little to eat, trying to sell hot cokes to people who look at her as trash. The heartbreak started long ago and the coverup is just beggining. I say this now because just wait. Its all gonna get really bad before it gets better.

Besides... Nobody in Holland is going to let the people starve (anymore than they already do). That’s a PR nightmare.

AKA - all you hecklers get a clue.

Lake Eric Princess--I want your email. But there is no way I will put it on my blog after the Dan R. fiasco. Let's figure out a way...

Lake Eric Princess--

Your quote:

"Beth Twitty is not going to "go away," or stop being a voice for her daughter, Natalee. THE SQUEEKY WHEEL GETS THE OIL, and eventually maybe, just maybe Aruba will realize that this is not going to disappear!"

I love it! You go girl!

"Will you still boycott Aruba when you find out some foreiner dragged her passed out ass off the beach and she's a sex slave in some brothel in Turkey? "

You just don't get it do you! Whatever happened to Natalie happened in Aruba. Do you really think if she was sold in sex slavery Aruba is off the hook?? Even more reason to BOYCOTT ARUBA!!!

"This is just so unfair and ridiculous...why should the average people in aruba be made to suffer?"

What suffering? All news reports coming out of Aruba indicate the boycott is having no effect. Or perhaps that is just another lie.

"Could YOU oust your local mayor, police chief, prosecutor etc overnight? Do it in a week or so?? Get reall....this is ridiculous"

It's been known to happen...

"Tell me...will you boycott Colorado for Jon Benet, Florida for the failures in the Jessica Lundsford Case, Virginia cause they probably botched Taylor's case so that Frawley wont get death penalty....

how about California for OJ, Blake, Michael Jackson?? Boycott Jamaica for Claudia too...or get real"

The evidence in the Jon Bennet case was presented to a Grand Jury for indictment, not a so called judge. The funny thing about evidence not only can it convict you but it can also clear you as was the case with Jon Bennet's parents. OJ, Michael Jackson, Blake...these cases were tried and for whatever reason the juries found them not guilty, but the cases WERE investigated and TRIED in a court of law. Big difference. Oh not and only were they tried in Criminal court but cival court too so they didn't exactly get off scott free.

Alabama does investigate and search for their missing persons and assist nearby states when called upon. We don't sweep it under the rug. The missing persons cases are always open and being investigated. You want to focus on Alabama's missing persons. Well it wouldn't be complete without the rest of the story. What kind of recovery rate does ARUBA have? They can't even find one missing girl.

I'm also trying not to use products from Dutch companies if I know they are Dutch. I do miss my Ragu and Dove products and I no longer buy Shell gas.

Michelle Says So 2.0 said...

To WarEagleMom--

Do you have a list of Dutch-made products beside Ragu, Dove and Shell gas? I will stop using them as well. Write back on this post with more information.

THANKS!

Michelle

Santa Claus is also a Dutch 'product'.

The American version of St. Nicholas, or Santa Claus originally came from the Dutch version called Sinterklaas. The Dutch settlers in New Amsterdam (New York) brought this fun and lively tradition (some even say cult) to America.

So boycott Santa Claus!!
