WISCONSIN WOMAN MYSTERIOUSLY DISAPPEARS ON CARNIVAL CRUISE SHIP

These cruise ship mishaps that have been occuring over the last several years is disturbing trend. I've never been on a cruise ship, but I hardly believe that this woman would climb up over the railing and 'accidentally' fall off.

MIAMI (AP) - The family of a Wisconsin woman who disappeared from a cruise ship sued Carnival Corp. on Monday, claiming the crew's failure to monitor a surveillance camera delayed search and rescue efforts.

The surveillance camera in the area where Annette Mizener's purse was found had been covered, preventing the crew from seeing her go overboard, according to the civil lawsuit filed in Miami.

"Had they checked on it immediately when it was covered, they would have known she was overboard," said Charles Lipcon, a Miami attorney representing Mizener's family.

"There was a long delay due to a failure to monitor the camera, or check why it didn't show a picture."

Mizener, 37, of Waukesha, Wis., disappeared from the Carnival Pride the night of December 4, 2004 for a weeklong cruise in Mexico with her parents and 17-year-old daughter.

The ship did not stop for an immediate search-and-rescue because the scene was not captured by the covered surveillance camera.

Mizener's body was never found. She is presumed dead, according to a July court ruling. The family is seeking more than $15,000 in damages.

Hey! That's not asking a lot considering that people who get their asses stuck to a Home Depot toilet seat sue for millions! Those good old Wisconsin people...I wear my cheesehead with pride.)
