ALL THE LATEST ON CRAIG STEBIC

"I'm not making any statements...
talk to my attorney."--Craig Stebic

I have been following the case of missing mother, Lisa Stebic since day one. Any defense attorney would strike me as a juror in a split second. Why? That's because I've already made up my mind that Craig Stebic is guilty of murdering his soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa. I believe in innocent until proven guilty, but you can't ignore a gut feeling when you have a lot of knowledge about crime and criminal behavior.

Circumstantial? Probably. But you just can't ignore these facts:

  • Craig had the motive to kill Lisa. He most likely didn't want to pay spousal or child support. It would be easier to delete her from the picture.
  • Craig had the opportunity by sending the kids off to the store for candy. The time period of when the children were gone would have been plenty enough time to kill Lisa, hide her body in the house and then take the kids out when they return.
  • I hypothesize that after the children were asleep Craig removed Lisa's body from the home and put it in the back of his truck; hence the blood found on the tarp in the back of the vehicle. Even though police won't confirm this, there was an inside police leak who stated DNA tests were done immediately and it was a match to Lisa Stebic.
  • Cadaver dogs were inside the house early on and made a positive "hit". (This was conducted before the official search warrant. At the very beginning Craig allowed the police to enter the home for a quick look-around...why? He knew Lisa wasn't there.)
  • There was a history of police calls to their home regarding domestic issues.
  • They were going through a nasty divorce.
  • Craig is known to be violent and verbally abusive.
  • Craig is known to be an avid hunter and has access to many weapons.
  • Craig was arrested twice on weapons charges and pointed a loaded rifle at a police officer that pulled him and his father over in Michigan a few years ago.
  • Craig never reported Lisa missing, a neighbor did.
  • Craig has refused to speak to police from day one. (One who is innocent has nothing to hide...)
  • Craig immediately filed a petition with the Court to allow Craig to have sole custody of his children, which was eventually denied.
  • Craig has since refused to allow the police or anyone to speak with his children, who are vital to the investigation. Other than Craig Stebic, Lisa's children were the last to see her.
  • Craig never attended one search for Lisa.
  • Craig never attended one vigil for her.
  • Craig non-nonchalantly lounges around his pool with a female local news reporter, while looking relaxed and very well fed. (See new picture of Stebic at poolside)

  • Neighbors have stated that since Lisa has disappeared when they encounter Craig he acts as if life is normal...not a person whose wife is missing. Whether they were going through a divorce or not, it is odd if not very suspicious behavior. These are typical attributes of a sociopath or someone with an anti-social personality disorder.

Here are my latest posts on all that is Craig Stebic. Justice will prevail. Lisa will be found and her killer will be prosecuted. I'm glad Illinois has the death penalty. Joliet prison will suit Craig Stebic just fine. I think he should probably pick up the latest edition of "How to Make a Shank for Dummies".

BRIMBLE UPDATE--WILHELM CLAIMS, "I AM REALLY THE VICTIM"

Suspect Mark Wilhelm was secretly recorded saying he was the victim in the murder of Dianne Brimble. In an intercepted phone call played at the Sydney inquest Wilhelm - one of the eight men of interest in the case - said Brimble was not the "Little Miss Innocent'' depicted by some people, and that Brimble made all her own decisions. He then made a string of derogatory comments about Brimble's appearance but at the same time said: "I am not saying she was not a nice woman.''

Wilhelm showed his true narcissism and sociopathic characteristics when he defiantly stated that the inquest into the murder of Brimble and his involvement is "the biggest load of crock'' he's ever seen and "the biggest miscarriage of justice''. "I am really the victim here." (Source)

Signs of a Sociopath

A sociopath has no concern for the feelings of others and a complete disregard for any sense of social obligation. They seem egocentric and lack insight of any sense of responsibility or consequence.

Their emotions are thought to be superficial and shallow, if they exist at all. They are considered callous, manipulative, and incapable of forming lasting relationships, let alone showing any kind of meaningful love. They typically never perform any action unless they determine it can be beneficial for themselves.

Since sociopaths cause harm through their actions, it is assumed that they are not emotionally attached to the people they harm. (1)

Some people who engage in violent behavior possess sociopathic personality traits, such as callousness, grandiosity, and fearlessness, and presumably engage in such conduct because they care little about others.

Others are impulsive and experience considerable anger, anxiety, and distress and may commit violent acts as a reaction to negative emotions, which are sometimes referred to as "crimes of passion."

Indeed, the distinction between primary and secondary psychopathy (including so-called neurotic psychopathy) has long been noted in the psychopathy literature (Karpman, 1947; Lykken, 1995)

DIANNE BRIMBLE--THE INQUEST CONTINUES, WITNESS CRIES

"A passenger on the cruise ship on which Dianne Brimble died has broken down while giving evidence at the inquest into her death.

Greg Williams met Mrs. Brimble on the first night of the P&O cruise in September 2002. He became emotional when he told the inquest he overheard a man yelling in the cabin next door early the following morning. He said the man referred to a woman as a "slut" and said she had defecated on him.

Mr. Williams said he believed the man was Mark Wilhelm, one of the eight men of interest. He said he ignored the remarks, because he was intimidated by the men." (source)

DIANNE BRIMBLE'S DEATH INQUEST: WITNESS HEARD WOMAN YELL "NO!"

A stewardess heard a woman in a room shouting "no" hours before Dianne Brimble's naked body was found on the floor of the P&O cruise ship cabin. Stewardess Sussanna Pascua said she heard angry voices coming from cabin D182 - first the woman's loud "no", then a man saying "shut up".

Seconds earlier she had seen a drunken man in the nearby corridor, wearing only a lifejacket, marked D182, and a pair of white briefs. "When he asked me the time, he also lowered down his briefs," Ms. Pascua said, adding that man was still in the corridor when she heard the loud voices.

In her evidence, Ms. Pascua said when the man in the corridor asked the time and exposed himself, she told him: "Pull your briefs up first before I answer you". When she walked away, she heard the loud voices coming from cabin D182, but left after thinking the people inside were having a party.

Giving evidence at Glebe Coroners Court, via videolink from the Philippines, she identified the man from a group photo as Mark Wilhelm, who is one of the eight men named as persons of interest in the death of Diane Brimble.

Ms. Pascua said she went near cabin D182 again at 6:35 am, when she saw four men, who were laughing loudly, coming out of a door. She identified the men as Mr. Wilhelm and three other persons of interest - Matthew Slade, Ryan Kuchel and Letterio Silvestri.

Between 7.30 and 8:00 am, Ms. Pascua said she heard an alert and was told a woman had died in cabin D182. After she heard of the body being found in the cabin, Ms. Pascua said she felt scared and confused, thinking she could have done something when she heard the voices.

DIANE BRIMBLE--PERPS CAUGHT ON TAPE

Some of the eight men of interest in the death of Dianne Brimble aboard a P&O cruise ship were secretly recorded discussing how to give their evidence at the inquest.

Ron Hoenig, the counsel assisting the inquest into Mrs Brimble's 2002 death, stated conversations were intercepted by police over a "considerable period of time...They relate specifically to this inquest, to what occurred on board."

"A number of persons discussed their evidence, how they are to give evidence, how to describe Mrs. Brimble and their view of her conduct on board."

Passenger Joanne Turner told the inquest that on the first night of the cruise she was at the ship's nightclub and saw three of the persons of interest mingling in a group. This group were making lewd comments about women, and another was made about a passenger's weight.

"There was an air of huge arrogance on their part," Ms. Turner said. "I remember thinking clearly, 'These people are guys you don't want to be near'."

Her husband, Nathan Turner, said the next morning he saw one of the members of the group with scratches and a black eye. "I just figured he crossed the line sometime during the night and someone had a go at him," he said.

In late evidence to the inquest tonight, one of two doctors called to resuscitate Ms. Brimble told the inquest he considered her death suspicious and suspected drugs and alcohol were involved. Junior ship's doctor Niels Willensiek said medical staff had tried for 20 minutes to revive the mother of three.

He said there was a significant amount of blood in her oral cavity and pharynx, adding he and senior doctor Damien McAliskey immediately thought the death was suspect.

"We regarded it as suspicious because it was a relatively young lady and there was no medical explanation (as to) why she would die...obviously we were suspicious about the cause of death, what might have happened."

Mr. Hoenig said one of the medical team recalled an occupant of the cabin attempting to come in during resuscitation, yelling: "Get the bitch out of my room, that's my room."

"You don't recall hearing that?" Mr Hoenig asked.

"No I don't," Dr. Willensiek replied.

CRAIG STEBIC--IT'S OFFICAL, A "PERSON OF INTEREST"

Look at the eyes and body language. He never looks up while talking to people...he never looks anyone directly in the eye. This is a classical example of someone that is lying or withholding information.

The Many Faces of a Liar

Today it was announced that Craig Stebic is finally officially considered a "person of interest" in the disappearance of his soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa Stebic, who was last seen with Craig Stebic and has been missing since April 30.

The investigators are hoping to use this tactic as a way to force Stebic to allow his two children, ages 10 and 12 to speak to investigators and/or child advocates.

THE WILLIAMS' FAMILY CRUISE SHIP HORROR

Here's another newest detail of the dangers on cruise ships. Here is the story of Kenneth Williams and his family and their ordeal with Carnival Conquest and the horror they endured and STILL endure.

On June 10, 2007, my wife, 12-year old son, 10-year old daughter, and I set sail on the Carnival Conquest from Galveston, Texas. Being that this was our first cruise, we were looking forward to spending some quality time together as a family. The first stop was Jamaica, when we opted for a Carnival excursion, “Lethe Village Tour”. We selected this tour to show the kids traditional Jamaican culture.

We had no idea how this decision would change our lives forever...robbed us, escaped with approximately two to three thousand dollars.

I am a 17-year police veteran. Before my current profession, I proudly served in the U.S. Army. Safety and protection is my number one goal with anyone, especially with my wife and children. With this in mind, I attended the excursion meeting that was held on the ship by the Cruise Director, Mr. Price.

During that excursion meeting, the Director's words were… “In order to see the true Jamaica, you have to take a Carnival Shore Excursion." He added, “The Carnival Shore Excursions are guaranteed safe." He explained that in the port city, we may encounter some undesirables, attempting to sell marijuana or pressuring us to take their cab. He explained that the Red-Tag cabs were the only registered cabs. He continued to persuade us to take a Carnival Excursion. There were no other warnings mentioned, other than the marijuana and high pressure taxi-sell. After the meeting, I was confident in my decision to take the Carnival Excursion, because of the “guaranteed” safety.

We arrived in Montego Bay on June 13th, where my family and I boarded the excursion bus, along with 13 other passengers. Two of the passengers were my father and step-mother. My father, who is 67 years old, has had two major heart attacks with the last one in July of 2006. This was the perfect relaxing excursion for him.

We drove approximately 30-40 minutes into the country of Lethe, Hanover. Along the way, we observed extreme poverty. The people looked at us as though they were angry with us for some reason...

...As we traveled further through the plantation, we approached a side-road to our right that was also surrounded with vegetation. It was here that our world came crashing down… Two men ambushed our trolley, approaching with guns and a knife. They immediately took control of our lives, pointing a pistol at the driver and ordering him to stop. Visibly shaken, Dalton exited and pleaded for the men not to hurt anyone.

The two gunmen began yelling, "F_ _king foreigners. Give us your f_ _king money, man. Don't f_ _k with us, man. We're f_ _king crazy." They approached on opposite sides and were either madmen or on some form of drug. My two children were sitting behind my wife and me, next to my stepmother and my father.

One of the gunmen placed an 8" revolver in my 10-year-old daughter’s face. My daughter was crying and pleading with the gunman not to kill her. I have never felt so helpless in my life! I still get physically sick thinking about this. As visions of my daughter’s life passed before my eyes, all I could think of was how badly I wanted her in my arms. The gunman kept the gun in her face, as he stole her disposable camera and all the belongings of the other passengers.

...I figured that they knew it was dangerous around there or they never would have had the weapons. As a police officer, it was easy to tell that these guys must have known this area was dangerous and they needed these weapons on-hand for protection. Carnival should have known, as it was a Carnival Excursion.

...We began hearing from Carnival employees, regarding their knowledge of how dangerous Jamaica can be, and their reason for not leaving the ship. Every crewmember to whom I spoke stated that they do not leave the ship, because they fear for their safety; yet, Carnival allowed us and other passengers to leave the ship, guaranteeing our safety?

...Carnival brought a Crisis Intervention Therapist onboard, who met with us. She remained on the ship, all the way back to Galveston, Texas. At the end of the cruise, she recommended that our family seek further counseling, in order to deal with this traumatic event. My wife and I agreed. A letter was also delivered to our cabin from the CEO of Carnival, apologizing for the incident. It also stated that Guest Relation Supervisor, Dorothy Georges, would be standing-by for our phone call on Monday morning, June 18th. When I called on Monday to inquire about the additional counseling, Ms. Georges was not available. I left a message.

When Ms. Georges returned my call, I expressed my concerns and asked how we would go about having Carnival pay for our counseling. She stated that she could not confirm whether or not Carnival would pay for the counseling, and would not have an answer on this for a few days. This infuriated me even more, thinking that if it had been THEIR 10-year old girl, who had a gun shoved in her face and forced to plead for her life, they would have immediately said, “Yes” to my counseling request.

At this point Carnival began handling this incident as ‘strictly business’. There was no compassion whatsoever!

INDIANA MISSING PERSONS LEGISLATION NOW IN EFFECT!

Missing Persons Legislation for all Indiana Missing

Effective July 1, 2007--Just 5 days before Molly Dattilo’s disappearance date, 3 years ago. (July 6, 2004)

The Dattilo Family and Indiana’s Families of the missing want to sincerely thank Representative Dave Cheatham, Senator Michael R. Young, and Senator Connie Sipes for sponsoring Molly Dattilo’s Law and getting it passed, in both the House and the Senate unanimously. We also want to thank Governor Mitch Daniels and all the House and Senate members for standing behind us and making a great change for Indiana’s missing.

April 26, 2007, Governor Mitch Daniels signed “Molly Dattilo’s Law”. This law will ensure that all missing cases are accepted immediately and cases are investigated to the fullest extent, possible.

Background

"Molly Dattilo’s Law" and the majority of it’s language was born almost 2 years ago, in April 2005, as Model Legislation at the first National Strategy Meeting identifying the Missing. At this conference, the National Criminal Justice Reference Service brought together Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement, medical examiners and coroners, victim's advocates, forensic scientists, key policymakers and families who have lived through this tragic experience to develop the baseline Missing Persons' Model Legislation. The Model was now ready for the next step.

ProjectJason.org, a not for profit Missing Persons organization, founded by Kelly Jolkowski, facilitated the next step and called for volunteers in each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia to retain a sponsor to support the Model Missing Persons' Legislation at the state level.

Campaign for the Missing, a grassroots effort, was born and volunteers came forward from many states to take the Model Legislation, tailor it for their respective state, retain a sponsor, and forge it into law.

Over a year ago, Keri Dattilo, Nina Eaglin, and Karen Modisett, 2 cousins and a family friend of missing Molly Dattilo, lobbied Indiana’s Congress for the Department of Justice’s Missing Persons Legislation on behalf of Molly. Molly has been missing for almost 3 years.

Marion County Sheriff’s Department, now the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, did not consider Molly’s case a high priority in the beginning and was very slow to investigate her case. The Dattilo family had to work very hard to ensure her case was taken seriously. They do not want another family to have to go through what they did when Molly disappeared.

ANOTHER CRUISE SHIP DEATH--WAS IT SUICIDE?

David Ritcheson, 18, who survived a brutal beating with a pipe last year apparently jumped to his death from a Cozumel-bound cruise ship on Sunday.

He was observed by several individuals jumping over the railing of the upper deck of Carnival Cruise Lines' Ecstasy around 7:35 a.m. Sunday. The ship's crew pulled the body from the water and he was pronounced dead at 9:10 a.m.

WAS IT SUICIDE?

Ritcheson's death comes less than three months after he testified before Congress about how two teens nearly killed him on April 23, 2006 by repeatedly kicking a patio umbrella stand into his rectum while shouting "white power!"

In an April interview, Ritcheson said he was still struggling with being identified as the victim of the pipe attack. Two skinheads, David Tuck, 19, was sentenced to life in prison for his part in the attack. Keith Turner, 18, received a 90-year sentence.

Neighbors stated that Tuck had swastikas painted on the fence at his home. On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, he flew a swastika flag.

Trial testimony revealed Ritcheson and friend Gus Sons met up with Tuck and Turner at a crawfish festival the night of the attack. From there, they went to Sons' house, where they drank vodka, smoked marijuana and used cocaine and Xanax, an anti-anxiety drug.

Sons testified that Tuck and Turner attacked Ritcheson because they believed he stole some drugs and tried to kiss Sons' 12-year-old sister.

Tuck and Turner dragged Ritcheson, who was Hispanic, into the backyard, where they taunted him with racial slurs, punched and kicked him in the head with steel-toed boots, burned him 17 times with cigarettes, and tried to carve a swastika into his chest. Tuck inserted a plastic PVC pipe with a point at one end into his rectum and shoved it in as far as he could by kicking the pipe as hard as he could.

In order to destroy DNA evidence, they poured bleach on his face and body and left him for dead. Witnesses did nothing to help and no one called for an ambulance until well after daybreak…which was approximately 10 hours. He suffered massive internal injuries and doctors told investigators they suspected some kind of toxicity in his internal organs that may have been caused by the introduction of some foreign substance. It was believed bleach may have been poured through the pipe into his rectum.

Ritcheson spent three months and eight days in the hospital and endured more than 30 surgeries. He was coping with the past, he said last spring, "by not thinking about it." He declined psychiatric help.

RITCHESON’S CRY FOR HELP

On April 17, 2007, Ritcheson called on Congress to strengthen U.S. hate crime laws.

"I appear before you as a survivor…I am here before you today asking that our government take the lead in deterring individuals like those who attacked me from committing unthinkable and violent crimes against others because of where they are from, the color of their skin, the God they worship, the person they love, or the way they look, talk or act." (source)

From Harper's Weekly, for April 24, 2007:

Ritcheson said he was frustrated by the fact that the state of Texas and the federal government were unable to use existing hate crime laws to prosecute his attackers. Authorities said they could not investigate as hate crimes assaults that take place on private property.

Representative Louie Gohmert (R., Tex.) argued against a hate crime bill from the floor of the House. "If you are going to hurt someone, if you are going to shoot them, brutalize them, please make it a random, senseless act of violence like Virginia. Don't hate them while you hurt them." (That has to be the most dumbest sentence I ever heard. I think he's been hanging around Bush too much...)

Gohmert told Ritcheson that he sympathizes with him and agrees "what you went through was intolerable." But then in the same sentence he told Ritcheson that even if the hate crime law were expanded, it "really wouldn't have affected your case.” Is it apparent that Gohmert sympathizes with Ritcheson's assailants'?

Gohmert also stated that, “...the law could lead to a transsexual who is a victim of a crime being treated differently than a heterosexual. He also said it would send a message to victims like those killed and wounded in Monday's shootings at Virginia Tech that they are not as important as transvestites or gender crime victims.”

He isn't concerned about prosecuting hate crimes, he is concerned about protecting hate speech.

OHIO SEX OFFENDERS TRACKED FOR LIFE!

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Gov. Ted Strickland on Saturday signed a bill that would track the worst sex offenders for the rest of their lives.

The legislation would match the federal Adam Walsh Act, passed by Congress last year. States that do not comply with the Adam Walsh Act risk losing federal grants that pay for tools such as ankle bracelets and satellite surveillance systems that help keep track of predators.

(Read about the Adam Walsh Act HERE)

Currently under the federal law:

  • The least offenses include sexual imposition, voyeurism and illegal use of a minor in nudity oriented material;
  • The middle group includes sex trafficking, solicitation of a minor to practice prostitution and distribution of child pornography;
  • The worst offenses include aggravated sexual abuse and abusive sexual contact against a minor under 13.
