NEW ORLEANS MAYOR: COME ON HOME! WAIT...I MEAN GO BACK. DUH....

I posted this up yesterday and now some 'anonymous' is calling me a racist! It was a JOKE, man. Get with the program. Check out his lame comments to me...

I am now convinced this mayor isn't dealing with a full deck. Hello? Reality check, dude!

Mayor Ray Nagin suspends his ambitious plan to reopen parts of New Orleans. He said he was concerned about the threat from Tropical Storm Rita, now moving west toward the Gulf of Mexico. The mayor was also under pressure from federal officials, including President Bush, who say the city is still unsafe.

Excuse me...anonymous. You obviously haven't read any of my previous posts regarding New Orleans and the people affected. I am no racist just because I think the mayor was premature in telling people to come back.

the mayor is black and you slander him what about the governor? silence...you're no better than bush at least he is upfront about not caring about blacks.

Hey coward who goes by 'anonymous'. Why don't you do something intelligent like read my other postings before you judge me and call me a racist, which is laughable by the way. I have never posted anything negative about the New Orleans mayor and have in fact, bashed Bush on this blog for not being a man and not taking care of the situation.

I don't care that the mayor is black...it's obvious you are the one pointing it out and making a ridiculous claim.

Who cares what color he is?!?! I just made fun of him for telling people to come back when he shouldn't have! Jeez!!! ...now all of a sudden I'm a racist??

Whatever, dude. Move along.

I find it quite funny that this is being made a racial issue when really it all comes down to common sence. Three days before the storm ever came they were told to leave. It is not the goverments responsibility to hold your hand and walk there ass out of there.
The EXCUSE that I keep hearing time and time again is they are poor and many dont have cars. NOW listen this is not the goverments fault that there are a shit load of poor, stupid people that leave below sea level. Even two days after all of this happened they were all standing on the bridge bitching about not being picked up. They were told to start walking over the bridge and that they had a much better chance of getting picked up and taken to safty. How many did you see walking?? LOL...not many
Sure I understand that not all people could get out there are the sick and the eldery and Yes I believe that they should have had help.
Normally a nation bands together in the event of a diaster such as this one. But not there... People shooting at the cops, robbing stores and house, rape and murder
to the point its was to dangerious to let rescue workers go in to save lives. This is the BIG picture and how it got turned into a racial issue I can only guess.

the dotted line shows sea level and the solid line is New Orleans.
You tell me where you would be if you knew a big storm was on its way to kick your ass. DOC

To Anonymous--

First, when did I ever literally say "BUSH IS A RACIST"? Find the post and prove it. I never delete any posts.

Second, how is my comment "this mayor isn't playing with a full deck" negative? I think you are being totally over-sensitive.

Don't you realize that my blog is supposed to be opinionated and sarcastic? Get over it...get past the B.S. that doesn't matter and focus on the real issue. I based my rip on the mayor on the fact that he told people to come back to New Orleans when he shouldn't have. A dumb blunder...it happens all the time. However, if a late night comedian or talk show host says something and jokes about it, or you see a sketch of it on Saturday Night Live or South Park, it's funny...but if little 'ol me, Michelle, pokes fun at a public figure I'm racist?

By the way, I haven't heard a WORD in the media about the Governor, so how can I cover that angle when no one is reporting on it? I absolutely agree that her job was not done and she buckled under pressure. She seems pretty inept from the information I've gathered. So, does that make me a 'woman-hater'?

Third, the comment I made about Kanye West saying that Bush doesn't care about black people does not elude to racism. Don't you understand the insides of the government works and how it's played? If you knew the history of American Democracy, you would know that it was ruled entirely by white men up until the 1950's.

Even after the civil war, the "Jim Crow" era, and after all these years of so-called 'equal rights', black men and women are not fully represented in American government. Throughout history, when a black american was elected to a position of a state or local representative they were basically ignored and run out of Washington. This government of ours is probably the oldest "boys club" of our country's history.

In addition, the fact that I agreed that Bush doesn't care about blacks is because (a) politicans want the bottom line. He knows that he can't rely on the black vote; (b) Most black americans do not financially contribute to his campaign; (c) Generally speaking, black americans do not represent the average republican's interest groups; (d) Most black americans are not wealthy. With wealth, comes power. You have to be just as rich and important to obtain the power to persuade the President or anyone in government to 'go your way'.

I could go on and on... Would you like me to cite more examples?

I have not called anyone a racist...I am simply saying that the U.S. Government does not care about the people who can't do something for them.

The laws of nature apply here...survival of the fittest.

neither party can get children's votes does that mean politicians don't care about children and for that matter a majority of americans of do not bother to or will not vote does that mean politicians dont care about the majority of americans? you live in a cynical world.

There you go again...bringing up non issues. You are talking in circles and not 'getting' my point, which is expected from you by now.

Yes, I am cynical...why? Because I've lived a crazy life and I've seen it all. I used to be an idealist, but look at the way society is now...how can you help but NOT be cynical?

you claim that "that the U.S. Government does not care about the people who can't do something for them" If you believe that then government does not care about children because they cannot do something for them ie vote. That is not talking in circles.

I think it is absurd to say the government does not care about children I guess I am trying to convince you to not be so cynical. I was hoping that you could see that the government does in fact care about children despite their lack of ability to vote. That is all.

Michelle Says So 2.0 said...

When did I EVER CLAIM that the U.S Government doesn't care about children? Find where I said it and prove it. Bring it on...I'm sick of your false accusations.

By the way, the government DOES care about children, because they are FUTURE votes and future taxpayers. DUH.

Why do you keep bringing up the children issue, when this has absolutely NOTHING to do with this discussion?

Move your ignorant butt out of here, please.
