HOLLYWOOD--WHEN IT COMES TO POLITICS, KEEP YOUR OPINIONS OFF CAMERA

I normally don’t post anything political because the topics get too heated and with me always having to have the last word, it’s hard to just let go of those who disagree with my ideologies.

For example, I normally would never agree with what Bill O’Reilly has to say about Bush, the war, the economy, etc. However, Monday night I caught some of his talking points regarding the anti-war rally that was held in Washington, D.C. last Saturday.

Some of O’Reilly’s journalists interviewed actors Jane Fonda (boo!), Sean Penn, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins. As actors (aside from Fonda), I think they are fabulous at their craft and what they do for a living. However, POLITICS is NOT what they do for a living. They do not have degrees, they lack any political experience other than their opinions, they do not work for the government or the people…they are living in their millionaire idealist world. Unfortunately, when I was younger and in my college years during the Clinton Administration, I was just as naive as them. Needless to say, as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become wiser. The wiser you become about the world, the more cynical you become.

Unfortunately the old saying, “Let’s give peace a chance” isn’t the motto of today’s world. Let’s move on. We are in a different day and age, people.

I like many others do not agree with the war. But this does not make me some extremist liberal. I am glad Sadamm is gone. However, my main struggle in understanding our motives is that we have not captured the man of the decade. OSAMA BIN LADEN. That is what I would like to see the U.S. focus on next. Why has he been able to escape justice for this long? It is a known fact that U.S. officials are connected to his family. Yet his family claims they do not know where he is. Why are they not subjected to a special inquest? Why were they shuffled out of the U.S. the day after 9/11?

Getting back to my original point, there are millions of idiots out there that idolize these movie stars and they will believe whatever they say just because they are famous and assume they are all-knowing. Those who cannot think for themselves allow others to think for them. This is called APATHY. It’s embarrassing and pathetic that the citizens of this country can’t even recognize pictures of important past and present political figures, yet they never fail to know who won the last “American Idol”, know who Tom Cruise is married to, or that Rosie O’Donnell is an annoying lesbian.

Example one:

When Sean Penn spoke about Iran having nuclear weapons he stated that shouldn’t be a problem. His reasoning? Well, the United States has nuclear weapons, so why shouldn’t Iran? He believes that we should understand their quest in wanting nuclear weapons.

Right as I was about to puke, O’Reilly squinted his eyes, crumpled his face and said with his usual sarcasm, “Ok, Sean, so just because WE have nukes, Iran should have them, too? …Ummmm okay, Sean. I think I’ll skip your next flick. O’Reilly, I couldn’t agree with you more.

Example two:

When Susan Sarandon was questioned about the amount of Iraqi civilians killed so far she stated 650,000 innocent Iraqis have been killed. O’Reilly quickly pointed out that the U.N. has come up with figures in the 150,000 range. Sarandon, where do you get your facts?

Example three:

As usual, Tim Robbins had nothing intelligent to say and of course didn’t stay on point to the questions asked to him.

Robbins:
“Will the situation be worse if we leave? No I don’t think it can get worse…from what I hear they don’t believe it can get worse. (From what you hear? Does your wifey tell you what to think?)

Interviewer: “Even if Iran were to take over part of the country?”

Robbins: “You seem to have some sort of support for the war, maybe you should enlist!”

O’Reilly: “Nice answer to a legitimate question…maybe you should enlist? Very intellectual Tim, very good.”

Example four:

Jane Fonda, the geriatric wanna-be ‘diva’ tried to skirt around the interviewer and claimed that it was the United States fault that millions of North Vietnamese and Cambodians were slaughtered AFTER the U.S. pulled out of Viet Nam. Yet she was AGAINST the war the entire time and had the balls to spit on the brave United States service men who defended freedom? The woman doesn’t know her ass from a hole in the wall and if anyone agrees with her thinking needs a serious lesson on politics, history and a huge glass of ‘shut-the-hell-up’.

Michelle Says So:

I am disappointed that so many Hollywood liberals are making the rest of us fair minded democrats look like fools. In today’s world, the word “left winger” or “liberal extremist” has serious negative connotations. Anyone famous spewing to the public with their “far left” mentalities and ideas are doing more harm than good and there are only a few that recognize what they are doing.

I urge people to do their own research…read up on Iraq, pre-September 11, Saddam Hussein, the history of Iraq and the middle east with their extremist religions, what Bush has done since 9/11, and what he hasn’t done since 9/11. Get as much knowledge as you can in an unbiased manner and MAKE UP YOUR OWN MIND. Don’t be a sheep…don’t vote a certain way because you really like Brad Pitt and Angelina. Have a mind! Use your brain!

Unfortunately, these Hollywood flakes are entitled to their opinions, but as I stated before, just because they are celebrities they should not publicly state incorrect facts based on their own personal opinions or agendas (such as Susan Sarandon) because this harms the brains of the general nincompoops and will affect the rest of us when November arrives.

O’Reilly…I’m giving you credit this time. I liked your way of thinking and your lack of your normal hostility.

Leave the hostility to me. I enjoy it more.

Here are a few thoughts.

Wisdom doesn't automatically come with old age. Nothing does - except wrinkles. It's true, some wines improve with age. But only if the grapes were good in the first place.

Abigail Van Buren (1918 - ), 1978

One's first step in wisdom is to question everything - and one's last is to come to terms with everything.

Georg Christoph Lichtenberg (1742 - 1799)

If your not liberal when your young, you have no heart, if you are not conservative when you are old you have no brain.

Normally attributed to Winston Churchill but recently denied.

While I was looking for that I found this.....

Never give in! Never give in! Never, never, never. Never -- in anything great or small, large or petty -- never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense.
-Sir Winston Churchill
