WARNING TO WALMART SHOPPERS--NO BLUE LIGHT SPECIAL HERE...

Why bother with this place? It's taking over the country with their cheap crappy products. Did you ever notice that there are no signs that show where each section is? This means you have to wander through the entire store trying to find what you want. And the purpose? The stupid people will impulse buy. Hey Wal-Mart, you ain't gettin' a DIME of my cash.

Good afternoon! Welcome to Wal-Mart!
Would you like a cart? Lane 67 is open for your 'rip off'.

Enjoy your Holidays!

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. charged the wrong price to shoppers in California and the Midwest at a rate that exceeds those set by federal guidelines, according to two union-commissioned university studies released Monday. Attorney generals in Illinois and California said the reports raised serious concerns. Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said his office would investigate what he called a "culture" of inaccuracy.

The two studies said random purchases at 60 Wal-Mart stores in California found that the wrong price came up 8.3 percent of the time.

At 78 stores in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, check-out scanners rang up the wrong price 6.4 percent of the time.

The National Institute for Standards and Technology says that for every 100 items scanned, no more than two should have the wrong price. The NIST's last industrywide study, in 1998, found the rate at 3.35 per 100.

Research conducted by the University of Illinois-Chicago Center for Urban Economic Development and the University of California-Berkeley concluded, "A majority of Wal-Mart stores tested in this evaluation of price accuracy demonstrated errors in pricing that exceeded federally accepted standards for large retail establishments." The researchers said the average cost of overcharges was more than that of undercharges.

Wal-Mart said its last internal audit found an error rate of 2.4% — less than the 1998 national study by NIST — and slammed the union studies as incomplete and outdated.

The organization, "Wake Up Wal-Mart" and the National Consumers League wrote to the nation's 50 state attorney generals asking them to take steps to enforce accurate price charging at Wal-Mart. California Attorney General Bill Lockyer and Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan said they are taking the issue seriously and will review the union studies to see whether to open an investigation. "These are very serious concerns that are raised. ... No shopper, at Wal-Mart or any other retailer, should have to go through a crap shoot at the checkout line," Lockyer spokesman Tom Dresslar said.

Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal said he had ordered an investigation even though his state was not included in the studies, saying the results showed a pattern of mischarging that could affect his state's consumers. "We're involved because these studies show a pattern and even a practice — in fact a culture — of inaccuracy in charging,"

Wake Up Wal-Mart also said its volunteers would be outside Wal-Mart stores in 36 states the day after Thanksgiving to distribute more than 1 million fliers warning shoppers to check their receipts.

Wal-Mart Movie Ignores the Facts

...claims against the company in Greenwald’s film were undermined by his hyperbole and his staunch refusal to acknowledge the way Wal-Mart really impacted communities – paying millions in taxes, employing thousands, and saving countless shoppers millions of dollars.

"Employing thousands"? Maybe employing thousands of illegal mexicans.

"saving countless shoppers millions of dollars"? People who think they are getting a deal tend to spend more money and therefore accumulate debt.

"Impacted Communities"? I have heard countless numbers of cases throughout the country where communities refuse to allow a Wal-Mart in their town because it brings property values down. I don't blame them! I wouldn't want some crappy-ass Wal-Mart near me!

Yes, MAYBE they spend more but they GET MORE too. Or maybe theY spend the same amount and get more. Either way they are better off with lower prices. Surely you're not advocating higher prices.

Yes, Wal Mart positively impacted communities with more jobs, benefits, and additional tax dollars. And the best thing is that nobody is either forced to work at Wal Mart or forced to shop at Wal Mart.

Copy and paste my link above in your browswer and read my article. You'll be wiser for it.

Definitely not advocating higher prices, but the quality of their items is CHEAP!

Yeah, those people may get more...more shit they don't NEED. Wal-Mart is logistically set up in hopes that people will impulse shop. To me, that is not only condescending, but a slap in the face of intelligent consumers.

Benefits? Didn't you see the released secret memo about reducing Wal-Mart employee's benefits? They make $8/hr for crying out loud.

That's right...I won't work there (as I would never have to) and I will NEVER shop there.
